Aluminum Rod (freshwater-specific modified Al-Zn alloy anode rod) is extruded from a specially activated aluminum-zinc alloy, solving the passivation that ordinary aluminum suffers in freshwater. It fits storage electric water heaters, solar water heaters and heat-pump hot-water tanks, and also suits seawater cooling lines, small marine equipment, hydraulic cavities and water-treatment units. The compact, flexible rod has a built-in steel core that can be machined to various standard threads for easy installation and replacement. Compared with magnesium rods, aluminum rods corrode more slowly, last longer, and are better suited to hot-water equipment in hard-water areas.
